Watch as a CSS based website layout is generated before your very eyes! A neat idea, and very effective way of showing a lot of the decision making progress in a short amount of time. It's an animated GIF with each frame representing a "save of the HTML or CSS during creation. Read the post about it and then check out the 879k GIF itself. Found via Waxy links.

Today's active webloggers are enjoying different web services like Flickr for photos, Del.icio.us for bookmarks, Amazon for wishlists, etc. These services have powerful features that would be either expensive, difficult or time consuming to re-create - so it makes sense to use them individually. The downside though, is that one's web identity ends up getting scattered across these services.
Jeremy Keith of Adactio has managed to use the APIs available for these services to consolidate his web identity into a single interface he's calling Adactio Elsewhere, read his intro here.
I think this makes a lot of sense, and I'm looking forward to the write-up where he explains how he pulled this all together.

Yes, it's true, Adobe has purchased Macromedia. This seems rather monumental, and sorta makes my head spin thinking of what this could mean down the road. Will the two companies take the best aspects from one another? Will the new conglomerate become completely obnoxious in it's totalitarian rule? Will the lack of direct competition between the two soften them into a giant marshmellow? Will software engineers become disaffected with the restructuring and invest all their energies into woodworking, hand-puppetry and other hobbies? One thing is certain, it's too early to tell.

Found in the comments to an earlier entry, you might find Alexander McCabe's writeFlash pretty handy if you want to embed and send variables to flash in a quick and easy fashion. It's a javascript solution, and he's released it BSD for everyone.
