Edgy advertising
Continuing on this morning's random stray from our usual xhtml/css fare, here's a commercial that made me laugh out loud. It's a little too extreme for television, but it would be a shame if no one got to enjoy it:
Supper 3.0MB quicktime
The commercial was shared with me by Kevin Byrd of local (Atlanta Georgia) architecture and new media group Lightroom who made the Food Loop website.

That's disgusting. How pathetic do people have to get in order to advertise these days!?!

Yeah, ironically, I find the day-to-day slush that passes for television advertising much more disgusting. But I can see how this wouldn't appeal to all tastes.

Awesome! ... in a sick and distorted kinda way. I love the look on the kids' faces. Priceless.
It's obvious that this ad was never intended to hit the airwaves. It's a Net play; as such, it does exactly what it's supposed to do ... create controversy and get attention.

wow, I think that's pretty funny. not for everyone, but edgy and believe it or not, I think it smartly incorporates the product. I did a web search and found two more, EVEN FUNNIER http://64.111.114.44/temp/FelipeMed_Prog001.mov http://64.111.114.44/temp/EarlyBirdMed_Prog001.mov

... and it is a little too extreme for me. I don't know how exactly they were planning to sell the Food Loop with that spot. Counseling services, maybe.
