CSS website layout animation

  • Reported by Nate

Watch as a CSS based website layout is generated before your very eyes! A neat idea, and very effective way of showing a lot of the decision making progress in a short amount of time. It's an animated GIF with each frame representing a "save of the HTML or CSS during creation. Read the post about it and then check out the 879k GIF itself. Found via Waxy links.

It's good. But I hope animated gifs do not become a standard for showing tutorials.

Good lord, I hope not. You should see my bandwidth stats from the past few days. Not pretty.

What a neat way to show the evolution of a page design through coding: add all the basic code, set up columns, add margins/padding, style the text...And seeing the result of each step of the way!

I appreciate the offer, Egor. Fortunately, I have something worked out with my hosting company and I think I'll be fine.

I'm surprised they didn't try Macromedia Captivate for screen captures. I know it's being "abused" lately (more and more each day), but it seems to make sense for this kind of application. At least it has a loader for a slower connection.
