Dynamic User Preference Script
Tony Aslett has just produced a User Preference Script that allows your visitors to choose color, background-color, font-size and font-family or with a little editing just about any style you wish.
Where this script differs is that you don't write alternate style sheets, you just provide some form of control for your visitors to apply different style rules. There can be as many different choices as you like.

This is good script. Talking about the usability of this,I think this would make more sense to have it on pages which are PUBLIC in nature. Where the baton is handed to the user and allow them to play with it. Personal homepage is one and talking about personal homepages these days many people use Blogs as Personal Homepages, so ultimately could be also be used on public blogs.

One of Jakob Nielsen's advices is not to let the visitors customize the web page. Colors and fonts etc. The color of the page should be choosen by the web designer in such a way that the text make a high contrast with the background. Anyway such a thing can be a cool gadget on a personal home page to spice it up.
