Mini Survey - Photography

  • Reported by Nate

What are your favorite websites for photography related information? I have a bookmark folder with some good ones I've found, including one of my favorites DPReview, but I'd really like to see where other folks are going for their info. Leave a comment with your best photo links.

mine of course... photographia.co.uk...

all joking aside, i do enjoy the photo listings at the italian design radar and back2mine.

...or did you mean info on technical issues?

never mind...i'm an idiot. after clicking through to the link in your original post, i realise that you did mean technical specifications etc.

as an aside: i just saw that the comment system here strips out <abbr> tags...shame, i had a particularly pedantic bit of markup: <abbr title="et cetera" lang="la">etc</abbr>

I use www.steves-digicams.com for digital camera reviews puprely for its comprehensiveness and sample photos.

No no Patrick - your links are all good, and thanks because I hadn't seen them yet. I think they would fall under the larger heading of "inspiration", which I haven't started filling out yet - and it's a large category

Here's what I've collected so far:

And about the abbr, I'll add that in as an accepted tag momentarily. Although frankly I'm going to replace this whole comment system with something more freindly... eventually.

PS - If anyone wishes to make a list like the one above, just make an Unordered List (UL) and give it a class of "nicelist".

I don't really have a new link to add but I agree that dpreview is great and was a major influencing factor in my last purchase of a digital camera.

As the owner of a Canon Digital Rebel I must add the Canon Digital Learning Centre to the list. It has heaps of great tutorials.

I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but theres a type of photography called lomography out there. I haven't tried it (don't have the cash) but I really want to...

Check it out at lomography.com.

Here's some of what I've got that hasn't been posted:

The best sites have already been listed. Luminous-Landscape and Photo.net rank up there at the top in my book.

Photomatix lets you combine under and over exposed digital images to get nicely exposed images. I haven't tried it, but it looks like a very cool concept.
