Matthew Brown: Taking his argument to its logical conclusions, of impact over accesibility, we would have an internet filled with flash layouts.
taking his argument even further, it wouldn't be flash, but every single designer would create his or her own special markup and proprietary browser plugin, and then the forces of the market would decide which one is the "coolest" and most reliable...
i have a sad feeling that the article wasn't actually meant to be funny...there wasn't even a hint of "nah, just kidding you guys" at the end. sad, sad thing. on the upside, he's made a reputation for himself now for being an idiot.

Emberton's article seems to be largely about getting attention. I'm a little surprised that he tried to go the way of web standards and ended up frustrated enough to write an article like this. I've found the community of folks who follow the standards to be very open and helpful. Maybe he gave up to quickly.

The anti standards guy just doesn't get it.
Standards make sense, semantically and logically.
