WThRemix... winners to be announced when?

  • Reported by Nate

Today is the day we are supposed to unveil the winners of the WThRemix contest, and we will, however we are still at the mercy of a couple judges and their very busy schedules. I should point out that this judging process is more than just a "pick the winners" type process. I built this complex form that the judges have to fill out for each entry, rating the entries on a slew of criteria. So please do forgive the delays, hopefully the results will be more interesting for it.
While you're waiting, check out the new prizes added at the last minute to substitute for ex-Glasshaus prizes. In case you're just tuning in, Glasshaus was a sponsor of the WThRemix contest until very recently when they went out of business. Thankfully New Riders and Joe Clark have stepped in to offer five signed copies of Joe Clark's excellent usability book - that's one for each prize winner!
Now originally, the grand prize winner was to receive three books from Glasshaus, so to make our prize winnings fair to the dollar, we've also thrown in a $50.00 gift certificate to Amazon.

I’m sure I speak for all of the other contestants as well ... the delays are not at all a problem. Nate, (and whoever else was involved in the organization of this contest) thanks so much for providing this FREE opportunity for us to have our work critiqued by such influential and respected people. Sponsors, thank you for offering such useful and practical prizes. Judges, thank you so much for spending your very valuable time helping us to improve our work. Your criticism will help to shape our creative personalities, and your selfless donation of time and energy personifies the medium's finest qualities – democracy and community.

I wish I could say for sure... Sorry everyone for the delay, there's not much more I can do but wait for the remaining judges to have a sliver of time available.

Nate, don't be sorry about the delays at all. If you talk to the judges who haven't submitted their reviews yet, tell them to take their time. Thanks for a great contest, and for making the results more than just "picking the winners."

Those judges, what a bunch of slackers... we'll have to brake their knees or something. Wait, maybe not... Anyway, thanks to all the contestants for hanging in there and thanks to all of the great feedback. I personally would like to thank Nate for putting on this whole contest and putting up with all of the pain in the ass judges like myself. Thanks to Joe Clark and New Riders for stepping up to the plate and Nick Bradbury for building great software. Also thanks to Eric Meyer, WesternCiv and our friends at Amazon.
