[webgraphics] New Comment Posted

  • Reported by francois

A recommended improvement to WebGraphics which all of us getting email notifications will appreciate: Instead of the above, let's have a useful email Subject line instead, like

[webgraphics] New comment on 'Why DHTML Will Win'

And here's how you do it. I was on the verge of posting this question on the MT forums, when I saw someone beat me to it. Serendipity.

Cool! Now it says, [webgraphics] New Comment on [webgraphics] New Comment Posted. Which is just what it should be. Quick responses, Nate!

Ok, sorry about all the testing comments posts and emails–apparently there’s something screwy with my email (non serendipity). Hopefully it’s working now.

Alright, it’s several months after this post was made, but it seems that a recent update to MT 2.2 over-wrote the little alteration made so that helpful subject lines are sent whenever someone comments on a post. I think I just re-instated the fix. Since the support forum URLs have changed, here is an updated link to the fix for future reference.

Bingo, in the comments.pm file of MT, I have the following value for Subject =>
’[’ . $blog->name . ’] New Comment Posted to [’ . $entry->title . ’]’ );
