ImageTagger

  • Reported by Todd

Got a folder full of images for the web, but don't feel like typing up img tags for each and every one? Check out ImageTagger for Mac OSX and 9. A little useless for one or two images, but priceless for more than a handful. The app automatically generates tags for each image, including properties like height, width, alt, border, etc. And hey, it's free.

Perhaps I'm missing something about pshops web photo gallery, but that seems like a completely different tool. The ImageTagger seems like a timesaver for getting img tag source code - not for batch generating photo galleries.

Speaking of Photoshop...I must say version 6.0 has spiraled into an enigmatic morass for me. Granted, I'm not the design guru like Nate, but I always felt comfortable with PS until version 5.5. Now, when I launch 6.0, i just scratch my head, tilt my neck to the side, and start to droll stupidly. It's like everything moved and is playing hide-and-seek with me. Argh. Why, for the love of God, why?!

Andria, it's the top toolbar - don't get too worried, keep using it a bit more and it will quickly become your favorite version. Wendy Peck has a nicely written piece on photoshop 6 in Photoshop 6 Review: What it Means for Web Work. If for nothing else, the improved text handling alone will make it worth your while.

After using Photoshop 6's top-option bar, I can't imagine working any other way. Incredible that such a logical, space-saving idea took this many revisions to get in. And hey, ImageTagger is cool. nah-nah
