The "studio tips" of Doug Chiang remind me of how Step-by-step magazine is structured. I wonder if this was featured in the magazine or he's just a fan of the format. I know there's something exciting about looking over the shoulder of other artists, I find it kind of inspiring. Perhaps pepe and I could do somthing simillar with web-graphics - for both the design and code.
