Any readers left?

Judging by the amount of other contributors posting on Web-Graphics, this has become a one man blog… So I’m just wondering, does Web-Graphics even have any readers left any longer?

Boy, it can be odd being a blogger. No feedback.. No eye-to-eye ‘pings’….

But I just jumped here from Bloglines where Web-Grapics has 16,389 subscribers. This must mean that Web-Graphics is among the top of many, many blogs. No?

    > Judging by the amount of other contributors posting on Web-Graphics, this has become a one man blog…

A couple of weeks ago, I talked to Nate about WG’s state of hibernation – I think the reason why things are so quiet has to do with the current layout. Not enough posts on the frontpage, titles are too big, text body is too small, the archives hidden somewhere far away – try to find my September post about Ubuntu without resorting to Google, for instance.

So, I think WG needs a redesign – something simple, with fonts that are easy to read and invite posters (like me) to post and readers to read.

For some reason, I have not been receiving notification of updates to the RSS feed. This is the first notification I’ve received that someone has posted for months, so I had (wrongly) assumed WG had gone dormant. I will start doing manual checks from now on!

I keep WG in my Reader as I’m sure many others do as well. But I must say, when you look at the last 2 months there were only 8 articles. As I look at previous years there was a lot more frequency.

Personally, I don’t visit very often, however you do show up in my reader. One question for you, what is the goal of your blog? Solicit conversation? Promote knowledge? and specifically what about the web graphics are you discussing? You can use feedburner to see how many visitors you get and from where.

My blog doesn’t get a lot of visitors, however by forceing myself to write daily causes my own knowledge to expand and creates some validity as a consultant to my potential clients. If you are interested in writing, but looking for another forum, maybe we can discuss how to join forces, since content is on the same line, yet different. You can visit my blog at http://www.visualcontentsolutions.typepad.com or email me at teh address provided. Good luck with you blog.
